If you’ve ever been to Green Bay around the holidays, you may have heard of the house simply known as the “Christmas lights house.” The whole yard is piled with decorations, and the electric bill shoots through the roof. The house is located on the southwest corner of Dousman street and Platten street on the west side of Green Bay.
There are dolphins, dinosaurs, the Grinch, Santa’s tree farm, a carousel, and bumper cars (both with motion), along with a Nativity set, and a ton more. I’ve seen my fair share of Xmas lights, but some of the lawn ornaments were amazingly creative. I especially liked seeing Elmo and the Bumble the Abominable Snowman from the clay-mation movie “Rudolph.” I won’t even attempt to guess at the number of Christmas lights on display, or even how much the whole ensemble costs!
While I was taking these pictures, there most have been a couple dozen cars that stopped in front of the house, and a few other folks who got out of their cars and walked around. There’s even a donation box on the side of the house for those who would like to support the Christmas decorating cause.
I took these photos right after visiting the Green Bay Botanical Gardens Festival of Lights earlier in the night, and used the same exposure settings with my Canon Rebel Xti. The settings were mostly iso 800, f5.6, and shutter speeds on average of .3″ thru 1/15. I didn’t use a tripod, so the images may appear a tad blurry, but overall I’m happy with how they turned out.

Also, since you’re in the neighborhood, you should drive a few blocks away and check out the Green Bay Christmas lights display over on lenwood.
